#BackToBasics is the present that I’ve decided to gift myself this year. Right now, my basic building blocks are eating and resting well. It is interesting how these level one needs are lost and deprioritised amidst the blur of many pursuits and wants. – Si Yu

It means giving myself more space to process my feelings and thoughts rather than spending all the free time on work, school, things to do, or social media. Designing my own organiser with the space to write down my reflections has helped. It means cutting myself slack and allowing myself to acknowledge that I’m not spending time productively without letting guilt consume me. – Xin Yi
Since it’s a forced “hermit-mode” era, I’m trying my hand at being more self-reliant. Less hanging out, but I still love my friends. This ‘me time’ also factors in to “remembering who I am” — all the parts of me I’ve lost along the way, and making the best version of me. – Aznet
As I reflected on what it means to go #BackToBasic, these words came to mind: As far as we can fly high to achieve, home will always be the place that we can seek comfort in. Through every up and down. – Jamie
In 2021, I bore the painful consequences of making important life decisions based on the opinions of others over my own gut. Carrying this lesson with me into 2022, I would like to continue working on anchoring my self-esteem internally – to not have my mental state be so highly susceptible to external circumstances and opinions, and instead seek self-validation and liberation in the very fact that I am living in line with my own values of authenticity, gratitude, courage and growth. – Bairavee
