The Tapestry Project Singapore is a community-based mental health non-profit that has been around for more than ten years. We started with a simple belief: every person’s story matters. Today, we continue to create safe and supportive spaces where people can share their lived experiences and find strength in one another.

Our work is guided by compassion, respect, and the understanding that healing takes time. We’re here to accompany people through their journeys without labelling or "fixing" them. We believe that when people feel heard, they begin to see themselves with more clarity and kindness, and when people share their stories, they begin to heal.

How we began
When we first began, we noticed that many people in Singapore felt alone in their mental health struggles. There were resources available, but personal stories were rarely talked about in an honest, relatable way. So we started collecting stories — real stories from everyday people. Slowly, these stories grew into a community. Over the years, we’ve learnt that storytelling is not just about speaking up, it’s also about being witnessed, feeling supported, and finding a way to make sense of your own journey. What began as a small initiative has grown into a recognised charity with evidence-informed programmes, resources, and partners who share our hope for a more caring and understanding society.

Our Mission

We aim to support individuals as they explore, share, and reshape their mental health stories, so that they are more empowered to support themselves and others.

How We Work
How We Work
Our approach is shaped by what we’ve learnt over the years. We draw from narrative therapy principles, peer support practices, creative literary arts, and our experience working closely with individuals and communities. In simple terms, narrative therapy sees people as separate from their problems, and helps them explore their stories with more clarity, compassion, and choice. This perspective guides the way we design our programmes and how we hold space for one another. We aspire to be Singapore's first narrative practice platform to enable communities in empowered collaborative storytelling.

Every person who shares a story, joins a programme, or finds comfort in our resources is part of our tapestry. These moments — big or small — help reduce stigma and build a kinder, more compassionate community.
